My story

**Note: Currently, Piona is in Korea, but upon adoption, she will arrive in Toronto. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please follow this link.BackgroundPiona was rescued from a puppy mill in Gimpo in December 2025. After her rescue, she moved to our partner boarding home, where she now lives with other dogs. For the first time in her life, Piona is in a safe place where she is cared for and surrounded by kindness.Personality and SocializationPiona is a gentle and sweet girl with a medium energy level. She may be shy at first, but warms up quickly, especially when treats are offered. Once she feels comfortable, her affectionate and loving side begins to show. With other dogs, Piona is friendly and enjoys their company. She feels most comfortable around small dogs and would benefit from having a gentle companion to play with. She has no experience with cats or young children.BehaviourPiona rides well in the car and usually rests quietly during the ride. She is cooperative at the vet and handles baths and grooming without any trouble. She is new to leash walking and is currently comfortable using pee pads indoors. Piona is a young dog who is still learning about the world at her own pace.Health and DietPiona is healthy and has received full veterinary care. She is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, dewormed, and receives regular parasite prevention. She currently eats dry kibble twice a day and has shown no signs of allergies.Ideal HomePiona would do best in a home with someone experienced with small dogs who understands how to gently guide a puppy as she builds confidence. A home with another small, friendly dog would be ideal, as she would enjoy the companionship and learn through play. A patient and caring environment will help her continue to grow into a confident and happy dog.**Note: Currently, Piona is in Korea, but upon adoption, she will arrive in Toronto. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please follow this link.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Piona, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
