My story

Meet Kira! Kira was previously living on the streets where she had an abusive owner. Used to pull his wheelchair, Kira was beat until she moved her owner and his wheelchair. Thanks to good samaritans, she was pulled into temporary safety but needed a real outlet to find a forever home. Kira joins us at boarding where she is starting to decompress. She has had a rough past but remains a sweet and gentle girl. Kira can be shy at first and is understandably nervous around men. Once she trusts you, she's incredibly affectionate and doesn't leave your side. She's playful and enjoys games of fetch and tug of war. Kira walks well on leash and is potty-trained. She would thrive in a home that can allow her to decompress and build her confidence. Kira is dog-tolerant, being fine around other dogs (big and small) but doesn't necessarily want to engage in play. She could be fine in home with another dog that will respect her boundaries. Kira is ready for her second chance at finding her true forever home. Can you be the one to show her true love and safety?

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kira, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
