My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Dooyu Age: 3 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Terrier mix (possibly cattle dog mix) Color: Black, Brindle Weight: 13kg / 28.6lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a very neglected situation where I had been tied up and kept in a storage area, without the care and love every dog deserves. Despite everything I went through, I’ve kept my bright, loving spirit. Now I’m safe, cared for, and doing so much better. I’ve left that past behind me and am ready to start a brand new chapter—one filled with love, comfort, and a forever family who will cherish me the way I deserve.   MY HEALTH Neutered & health with no known health issues All vaccinations up-to-date   MY PERSONALITY I’m a super smart boy—maybe it’s the cattle dog in me! I pick things up quickly and already know a few commands like sit and paw. I form strong bonds with my people and truly enjoy being around them. I can be a little shy at first, but I approach with curiosity, and as long as you’re gentle and patient with me, I warm up quickly and start showing my sweet, affectionate side     MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy at first, but I warm up quickly and start showing my sweet, affectionate side. Once I feel comfortable, I love rolling over to show my belly—it’s my way of asking for cuddles! I did great during my profile photoshoot and quickly warmed up to everyone there. I’m also comfortable being picked up, making me an easy and loving companion. · With Dogs: I like to greet new dog friends, but I prefer to take things at my own pace and don’t jump straight into play. I enjoy observing first and warming up slowly, and I get along well with the dogs at the care facility. That said, I’m definitely more of a people’s pup—I truly love being close to my humans and bonding with them. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a high energy level and lots of excitement for the world around me! Since I haven’t had much exposure to walks yet, I can get pretty excited and may pull at the beginning—I just have a lot of energy to release and curiosity to explore. Once I’ve had a chance to burn off that initial energy, I’m able to settle down nicely and become much calmer. With some consistency and guidance, I’ll continue to improve and turn into a great walking companion.   TRAINING & HABITS I can be quite excited at the start of my walks and may pull at first—I just have lots of energy and curiosity since I didn’t get much exposure in my previous home and want to explore everything around me. The good news is, with more consistent walks at the care facility, I’ve already started calming down much faster and following my handler’s lead. I’m improving day by day and learning how to be a great walking partner. I have great manners around food and don’t guard it from people or other dogs. I prefer going potty outdoors and settle nicely in my kennel when it’s time to rest. With continued guidance and routine, I’ll keep growing into a well-mannered and balanced companion.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • Ideally a family who is familiar with cattle dogs and high energy breeds. I’m an active boy!   SPECIAL NOTES I’m a bright, energetic, and eager-to-learn boy who thrives with structure and activity. I form strong bonds with my people and truly enjoy being close, often seeking out connection and guidance. While I can start off a little shy, I warm up quickly and show a very affectionate, loyal side. I have a high energy level and will do best with an active family who can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and continued training. I’m already showing great progress with routine and consistency, especially with my walking skills. I have excellent manners around food, settle calmly in my kennel, and prefer an outdoor potty routine. With the right balance of structure, patience, and love, I’ll grow into a confident, well-mannered, and deeply devoted companion   DOOYU'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.co ##2702061##
