My story

**Note: Currently Shongshong is in Korea, but will arrive in Toronto on April 14 upon adoption. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please follow the link. BackgroundShongshong was rescued from a puppy mill in Gimpo this past winter. Since his rescue, he has been living with other dogs. He was very timid when he was first rescued, but he is slowly learning to trust people.Personality and SocializationShongshong is a very gentle, soft and shy boy. He is timid with people at first and needs time to feel safe and comfortable. Rather than approaching right away, he prefers to observe quietly and move at his own pace. With patience and understanding, he begins to open up and show his sweet personality. With other dogs, Shongshong shines. He is very friendly, especially with small, gentle dogs, and finds great comfort in their presence. He loves being around them and often looks to them for reassurance. He always followed his best friend, Bibi, but he got adopted by a wonderful family in Vancouver. He has not yet been tested with cats, but with a slow proper introduction, he will probably be ok. His personality is very gentle and submissive and nevers showed any agression towards anyone. Anyways very patient, quiet and gentle.BehaviourShongshong rides well in the car and rests quietly during the ride. He is very patient and cooperative at the vet and handles baths and grooming without any issues. He is new to leash walking and his adopter will have to work on it.He does not show destructive behaviour or excessive barking. He is very quiet and shows no separation anxiety. He is comfortable using pee pads indoors and also goes potty outside. He is a quiet and lovely boy who is slowly learning about the world around him.Health and DietShongshong is healthy and has received full veterinary care. He is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, dewormed and on regular parasite prevention. He currently eats dry kibble twice a day and shows no signs of allergies.Ideal HomeShongshong would do best in a calm and quiet home with a fenced backyard. He needs someone patient who understands shy dogs and can give him the time and space he needs to feel safe. Previous rescue experience would be ideal. A home with another small, gentle but confident dog is very important for Shongshong. He gains comfort and confidence from other dogs and learns a lot from them. With time, patience, and love, Shongshong will continue to grow and blossom. He is a very gentle and submissive boy, and once he feels safe, he will become a deeply loyal and special companion. Whoever gives him that chance will be truly rewarded.**Note: Currently Shongshong is in Korea, but will arrive in Toronto on April 14 upon adoption. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please follow the link.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shongshong, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
