My story

Meet Phoenix – A Tiny Survivor with a Giant Heart 🔥 Age: 7 months Coat: Long-haired brown tabby (luxuriously soft and ridiculously handsome) Special Skill: Rising above everything life has thrown at him Phoenix is exactly what his name promises—a little fighter who has already overcome more than most. After a construction accident as a young kitten left him paralyzed, Phoenix has proven that resilience, joy, and love don’t depend on having a “perfect” body. Let’s be honest: Phoenix is a special-needs kitten, and his care is a serious commitment. He has no control over his bladder or bowels, so he wears a diaper and will need his bladder expressed at least 4+ times a day for the rest of his life. His future adopter must be ready to care for him much like you would an infant—every single day—for potentially 20+ years. Because of his sensitive digestive system and diapered lifestyle, Phoenix must stay on a balanced raw diet (he’s currently thriving on Viva Raw), which helps keep him healthy and comfortable. Now for the part that will absolutely steal your heart: despite everything, Phoenix is a happy, loving, playful kitten. He doesn’t dwell on what he can’t do—he just lives. He enjoys the company of other cats and can do well with dogs given proper introductions (fair warning: he will hiss like it’s his full-time job for about a week… and then likely decide they’re acceptable roommates). Phoenix’s ideal home: • Someone experienced or committed to learning special-needs care • A stable, long-term home ready for a 20+ year commitment • A consistent routine for diaper changes and bladder expression • Willingness to maintain his raw diet • Other pets are okay with patience and slow introductions Phoenix is not an “easy” adoption—but he is an extraordinary one. The bond you’ll build caring for him is unlike anything else. He will depend on you completely, and in return, he’ll give you trust, love, and a daily reminder of what true resilience looks like. If you’re ready to open your heart to a kitten who needs a hero, Phoenix is waiting to rise with you. He is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $175. If you have any questions or would like to adopt Phoenix, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
