My story

Scampi is a 2 year old, 20lb black pug mix with endless energy and a heart that just needs a moment to feel safe 🖤🐾 When you first meet him, Scampi can be a little shy—loud noises and fast movements make him duck or hide. But give him just a little time (we’re talking hours, not days), and you’ll see the real him come out… cuddly, affectionate, and ready to give kisses 💕 This boy has zoomies for days. He LOVES to run, play, and burn off energy, so an active home (and ideally another playful dog) would be a dream for him. He’s social and enjoys being around other dogs, often taking a playful and slightly submissive approach as he builds confidence. Scampi is still learning the ropes of home life—he’s working on potty training and crate training, and he’s pretty sure the leash is a strange invention 😅 But he’s already making progress, and with consistency, he’s going to thrive. He’s currently healing from some past wounds (including a chest injury) and is on antibiotics as a precaution, but overall he’s doing well and showing just how resilient he is. 💙 Scampi’s Perfect Home: • Patient adopters who will let him warm up at his own pace • An active lifestyle to match his energy • Another playful dog is a big plus • Someone ready to continue his training journey Scampi is that special kind of rescue dog—the one who may start a little shy, but once he trusts you, he gives you everything.
