When Aubergine looks at you, you can’t help but feel seen, her thoughtful, soulful eyes take in everything around her. BIO & BACKGROUND:- Potcake, 10 months old, spayed female- Medium-sized (35 lbs, could be 40-45 lbs when fully grown)- Aubergine has grown up in the safety of a rescue after her mother was rescued by a local rescue organization in Antigua- Aubergine is house-trained, microchipped and has her core vaccinationsABOUT AUBERGINE: - Aubergine is both calm and full of puppy-energy, she loves her zoomies in the backyard and she’s just as happy to take up a corner of the sofa and sleep soundly beside you- She is crate-trained and while in the shelter she chooses to sleep in a large crate in her kennel where she feels safe and surrounded by her stuff - she’ll take anything in her kennel and tuck it away in her crate for sound keeping- Aubergine is good in the car- She loves a brush and will make cute faces and lean in when you’re brushing her- Aubergine is food motivated and smart, this will make her highly responsive in trainingAUBERGINE’S IDEAL HOME:- Aubergine needs a family that will give her time to settle at her own pace for her confidence to continue to grow, we have seen her blossom at the shelter by leaps and bounds as she learns to trust she is in a safe environment- Given her love of the outdoors and playful nature, a backyard where she can chase balls and run around would suit her best- She could be good with older kids that understand that slower and calmer is better- Aubergine gets along with most dogs and while at the shelter has enjoyed interacting and playing with other dogs (if her potential adopter already has a dog, we will arrange for a meet & greet)- She is good on a leash, she can get nervous with loud noises, but otherwise she enjoys walking. She has shown some reactivity to dogs passing by outside or that she sees on a walk and would do well with some training on walk mannersAre you the one for this sweet ginger to join you in your journey? If you have any questions about Aubergine, contact her Adoption Coordinator at: lauren.etobicokehumanesociety@gmail.com
