My story

Hello! My name is Nova!I`m a sweetheart but I do have a timid side, especially when I first arrived at the shelter. I`m feeling much better now and am learning that all the humans are very nice and always have yummy treats on them. Currently, I like to greet new people with a wiggle bum and a little bit of excited jumping. I may pee if I get scared. I`m looking for a home that is eager to build my confidence through play and by telling me what a good girl I am! I sometimes get nervous on walks and sometimes stop and don`t want to walk where you want to walk. However, I do love following my nose! Did someone say `part-hound`?? I would love a human friend that will let me follow my nose on walks and who will be patient if I decide I`m not comfy going somewhere.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Older and respectful children should be ok. No young kids given I can be timid.OTHER DOGS: Yes, a home with a confident, well-socialized, playful dog will be preferred to help with my confidence building as they show me that the world is a safe place.CATS: Potentially, with a cat tolerant of puppy shenanigans.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: I would do best with someone who has previous dog or puppy experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Highly recommended given I can get nervous on walks and will need time and patience to work on this.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Home with yard preferred.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily, though I wouldn’t be an ideal match for a family that is gone for a full work day.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: No, I’m still working on this and will require some patience and continued training. If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nova, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
