My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Minari Age: About 9 Months Old (Born in June 2025) Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Basenji Mix Color: Brown and White Weight: 8.3kg / 18lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY We were found together—my mom, my siblings, and me. All seven of us, huddled close, trying to stay safe. Someone noticed us and made a call and that’s how we were rescued. Now, my siblings and I are ready to go our own ways and find our forever homes. I’m still that same gentle, loving soul— just waiting for a family to belong to.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Minari Hi, I’m Minari, a soft-hearted girl learning that the world can be kind. I may not run up to you right away but if you give me a little time and a gentle approach, you’ll see me slowly come closer, curious and hopeful. I’m not the boldest dog — but I have a quiet, tender kind of love to give. I’m a bit sensitive and easily startled, but also incredibly gentle and sweet. Even when other dogs act tough or loud, I don’t react — I just lower myself and wait for things to feel safe again. I’m the kind of dog who needs understanding, not pressure. I need a bit more time and guidance to fully open up — but I am opening up, more every day. If you believe that love can be quiet, slow, and deeply meaningful, I think I could be your girl.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I might be a little shy when we first meet. If you offer me a treat, I’ll gently come closer and take it, but I may need a little more time before I’m ready for pets. When I feel safe, you’ll see a different side of me — I might roll over and show you my belly, my quiet way of saying, “I trust you.” You can also gently scoop me up with your arms under my belly, and I’ll stay relaxed in your arms once we’ve built that connection. · With Dogs: When it comes to other dogs, I’m gentle, thoughtful, and a little selective. I’ll usually walk up to say hello, but I’m not always looking to play — I tend to keep things calm and low-key. Big dogs or very high-energy dogs can feel a bit overwhelming for me, so I feel much more comfortable with dogs around my size or smaller. Sometimes, I don’t show much interest in other dogs at all, but having a calm dog nearby helps me feel more secure and relaxed. And if another dog isn’t being so friendly, I’d rather avoid conflict and quietly walk away. I’m not the type to seek out chaos — I prefer peaceful company, gentle energy, and feeling safe. · With Cats: I might stop and watch cats out of curiosity, wondering what they’re up to. But if you gently guide me along, I’ll happily follow your lead and keep walking with you. I’m curious, but I listen.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have high energy level – I really enjoy getting plenty of outdoor time. Once I’ve had a good walk and used up my energy, I’m happy to come home and rest calmly. On walks, I can get pretty excited. Sometimes I pull — especially when I want to go a certain way — and I tend to stop and go because there are just so many interesting smells to explore. I’m also a bit sensitive to sudden movements or loud noises. If something surprises me, I might try to jump or pull away, so I’ll need someone who can guide me calmly and help me feel safe. With patience and steady support, I’ll learn to feel more secure.   TRAINING & HABITS When it comes to food, I’m very relaxed — I don’t guard it from people or other dogs, so everything stays peaceful. I’m also on the quieter side, so you won’t hear much barking from me. In my kennel, I settle down nicely and rest without trouble, and I’m comfortable having my own calm space. I usually prefer doing my business outside, so I enjoy having a routine with walks and fresh air.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES Having another calm, kind dog around helps me relax and settle much more easily. I often look to them for reassurance, and their presence makes the world feel a little less scary. With a gentle companion beside me,you’ll see me open up more, feel more confident, and truly be myself. I’ve been getting braver lately — I now approach people and dogs to say hello, sniff, and even give a little lick. But I still get surprised if someone moves too quickly or tries to touch me suddenly, so I feel safest with slow, calm energy. A double leash is recommended while I continue building confidence outdoors.    MINARI'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.co ##2697721##
