Hugo

My story

Hugo is a darling boy. He is a small guy with a big appetite. He came into rescue emaciated and left outside by his past owner. We took him in and started to feed him small meals throughout the day. And wouldn’t you know it, he put on the much needed weight. Our vet ran all the blood tests to make sure nothing serious was going on, other than being starved by his past owner. So horrible! He did have a case of pneumonia, that two weeks of antibiotics cleared up and he fortunately, tested negative for valley fever & tick fever too. So, he’s now a happy & healthy boy. We are looking for a family that will cherish this dog. One that will love & care for him for the rest of his life. He’s only 4 years old and has a nice long life ahead of him. He’s been around large & small dogs in his foster home and does just fine. He does like to follow the big dogs around but, they just ignore him. He’s full of personality! At first he was afraid to go outside on his own. We’re guessing he thought that he’d be left out there to live but, Now that he knows he can come right back inside, he runs straight out and then lounges on the grass for a little while. Or follows the other dogs around. Sniffing everything that they do. Hugo will be a fun pup to have around. He’s got such a smooshed face that he will always make you laugh with his little creature sounds and he’s up for any adventure. If you’re looking for a big dog personality in a little dog’s body a Frenchie could be your breed and Hugo is definitely a keeper.
