My name is Willow. I was release from a shelter in mid-March. I am not a fan of the snow but I do look smart in my pink and white coat. I like living in a house and having people take care of me instead of being neglected. I get to go for walks and car rides (I love both!!) and snuggling with my foster sister, a Pit bull named Pearl who kind of looks like me, and my house lady. I love treats so much that I've almost learned in the first week to always pottie outside. The most fun thing in the world is playing with my toys. My house lady is trying to teach me things like "sit", "off", "leave it", "pottie" and "come". I'm just a baby but learning is fun, especially with treats. "Treats" is my favourite word, so I hope my new family has lots of them. And now a few words from my foster: If Barbie (beautiful and blond with legs that don't quit) and Gumbi (dude with questionable limb control) had a kid, it would be Willow. She appears to be part Whippet, part pool noodle given how long and thin she is and how she magically bends in every possible direction. Willow is extremely food motivated which has made training a breeze. Although she still has the occasional accident inside, I anticipate she will imminently be clean inside. She is a great sleeper who doesn't require midnight turnouts. She quickly learned to leash walk and joyfully follows her foster sister around the neighbourhood, introducing herself to everyone we meet. She is wary of vehicles and will need continued support in her quest to become a brave little girl. A quieter neighbourhood, rather than dense urban living, would best suit her. That said, Willow loves going for drives (especially those that involve drive-throughs). She hasn't barked once but occasionally "whisper barks" which is positively adorable. Willow loves everyone and everything - people, dogs, toys, food, playtime inside/outside - and hasn't demonstrated any dislikes. She is surprisingly self-confident for a puppy. Because she is still so young, someone who is home part of the day would be ideal. Willow would benefit from continued training, ideally a puppy class, to further her socialization and to reinforce proper manners. If your dream dog is a gorgeous, funny, affectionate pool noodle, Willow is for you. (Please see earlier reference to treats!) Questions?
