QUICK FACTS Name: Bentley Age: 1 year old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Shiba mix Color: Brown, Black Weight: 12kg / 26.4lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a crowded city pound where I had been placed on the euthanasia list simply due to lack of space. My story could have ended there—but thankfully, it didn’t. I was given a second chance, and now I’m ready to start a brand new chapter. MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues MY PERSONALITY I’m a curious boy with many classic Shiba traits—smart, elegant, and undeniably handsome (some even mistake me for a girl because I’m such a pretty boy!). I’m interested in meeting new people, though I may give off that classic “I’m watching you first” Shiba vibe. It doesn’t take me long to warm up, and once I do, my affectionate side really comes out. I also get along very well with my dog friends and enjoy their company. MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take me long to warm up. Once I feel comfortable, I happily accept pets and affection and enjoy spending time close to my people. I also love taking treats from your hands, and I’m comfortable being picked up. · With Dogs: I enjoy meeting new dog friends and love to play once I feel comfortable. I tend to get along especially well with bigger dogs, and I really look to my dog companions for guidance and confidence. Because of that, I would thrive in a home with another friendly dog who can help show me the ropes and be my buddy. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit. ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level—I enjoy spending time outdoors and going on walks, but I don’t need excessive exercise. After some fresh air and activity, I’m more than happy to settle down and relax with a good nap. TRAINING & HABITS I’m continuing to improve on leash and getting more confident with each walk. Sometimes I can feel a bit scared, and when that happens I may lie flat on the ground, but with patience and reassurance I’m learning to move through those moments. I don’t guard my food around people or other dogs, and while I may bark occasionally to get attention or alert you, I’m generally a quiet boy. I also know how to settle calmly in my kennel and can use both indoor and outdoor potty routines. MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • Ideally a home with another dog sibling but not an absolute requirement SPECIAL NOTES I may need a little extra patience and encouragement during walks as I continue building my confidence, but I’m improving steadily with gentle guidance. I would do best in a home with another confident, friendly dog who can help me feel secure and show me the ropes. I’m a sensitive and observant boy, so I thrive in a calm, supportive environment where I can settle in at my own pace. With consistency, reassurance, and a bit of time, I’ll continue to grow into a confident and affectionate companion.
