My story

Roxie came into our lives about three years ago when she was just a tiny puppy. My wife’s friend found her wandering around her apartment complex in the middle of July. We already have three dogs with our first son on the way so my wife and I were not looking to adopt a fourth dog. My wife’s friend could no longer take care of Roxie and we didn’t want to see her be surrendered to a pound so my wife and I took her in as a foster dog. We were determined to find her a forever home. My wife eventually gave birth to our son, so we brought him home to a house full of dogs. What we didn’t expect was Roxie was the only one of our four dogs who enjoyed interacting with our son. She would let him crawl over her and she followed him everywhere. My eldest dog never got along with Roxie; he is a Schnauzer that I’ve had for 10 years, so I fear because she is older and stronger now she could hurt him I’ve been keeping them separate but she needs to be in a home where she’s the only dog.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Roxanne(Roxie), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
