My story

Introducing Kaydee! đŸ©· This beautiful lady is an energetic, loving, playful, intelligent 6 yr. old Queensland Blue Heeler who loves her walks, hiking, plush toys, belly rubs, daily brushing, nylabones, car rides, zoomies, basking in the sun and playing in the snow. When she's tired she loves nothing more than curling up on her bed with her blanket, next to her human on the sofa or on her human's bed if allowed! She also loves her "vacation" days at the Hassayampa Canine Resort & Spa in Prescott Valley where she can run and play with other dogs. Kaydee graduated from Granite Mountain Dog Training (4 week training) and attended UAF's Level 1 training when she was adopted. She was trained with an e-collar which she wears on all her hikes and walks to help keep her calm and confident. She is protective of her human and can be barky when on walks when she encounters other dogs or humans, but a firm “eh-eh” "sit" command, and a "tap-tap" with her collar calms her down.  Kaydee is housebroken, crate trained, uses a doggie-door and knows all the basic commands such as come, place, sit, down, and heel. She does best with consistent, positive reinforcement of what she learned in training. She hasn't had much exposure to public places but regular interaction at Home Depot, etc. was part of her initial training. She is a "leader" and wants to be "in charge" yet rarely displays concern around other dogs. As with all dogs, slow introductions are best - she loves to play and tries to engage others in her games.  She lives with a female dog and gets along with male dogs. Her behavior around animals besides other dogs is unknown. No cats please.  Kaydee’s behavior around infants, or young children, is unknown. She is fine with men and women and will likely pick a family member to be her “person.”  If strangers come to her home, slow introductions and ignoring her is the best approach. She will alert if she hears or sees strangers, or other dogs, walk past her windows or if she hears wildlife roaming nearby at night. She wears her e-collar during the day but rarely needs correction while wearing it. Kaydee would do well in a household as a single dog or in a home with an energetic companion such as herself. She needs regular walks and room to explore to satisfy her curiosity and energetic needs. If you’re looking for an affectionate, energetic and smart girl to share your days with, Kaydee would be the perfect companion.đŸŸđŸ©·đŸŸ Our adoption fee helps cover expenses (vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets we rescue. UAF does not adopt or ship outside the state of Arizona. To ensure the best fit, UAF conducts a home visit to meet other pets and verify a safe, secure yard. If you have any questions or to adopt a dog an application must submitted. Filling out this form does not obligate you to adopt, but gives us the information needed to make sure the pet is suited to your home. HOW TO APPLY: From Petfinder.com The fastest way to get to the adoptable dog page is to copy and then paste this link into your browser: https://unitedanimalfriends.org/adoptable-dogs/ When you are on the UAF website Select "Adoptable Dogs" and pick the dog you are interested in. To apply to adopt, go into the dog's profile, and click the gray "Apply for Adoption" button to get started. You could be a life saver! Help us save more lives by fostering a dog or cat. If you live in the Prescott Az area please go to our website unitedanimalfriends.org and learn more about fostering!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kaydee (Courtesy Listing), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
