**Currently, Monty is in Korea, but will fly to Toronto on Mar 15 upon adoption. Background Monty and his two brothers, Heedong and Tongky, were rescued this winter from a city pound in Buan, Korea. After their rescue, they moved to our partner boarding house where they now live safely with other dogs. Personality and Socialization Monty is an absolute sweetheart. He is affectionate, gentle, playful, and full of love. His soft and kind personality quickly wins people over. Monty enjoys cuddling and will happily snuggle close to the people he trusts. He is friendly with strangers and is comfortable meeting both men and women. He greets new people with a warm and open nature. Monty has a medium energy level, which makes him a lovely balance. He enjoys playtime and going for walks, but he is also perfectly content relaxing quietly beside his person. He is a smart boy who enjoys connecting with others. Monty gets along very well with other dogs, especially those who are calm and friendly. As long as the other dogs are not too rough or overly energetic, he enjoys their company and social time together. He has no experience with cats or young children. Behaviours Monty has shown himself to be a very well mannered boy. During his quarantine period after rescue, he stayed calm and quiet. He did not show signs of separation anxiety and did not bark unnecessarily. He has not displayed destructive habits and enjoys playing with his toys. He rides comfortably in the car and adjusts well to new environments. At the veterinary clinic, the staff commented on how polite and calm he was during his examination. He remained cooperative and relaxed. Bath time is also easy for him. Monty trusts gentle handling and allows people to care for him without fuss. He is also doing nicely with leash walking. While he is still learning, he follows his person well and clearly enjoys going for walks. At times he may pause to look around with curiosity, but he quickly returns his attention to his handler. Walking beside his human makes him very happy. One thing to note is that Monty is a good climber and can easily climb or jump over a wired fence easily. His adopter should be extra careful during the adjustment period to make sure he stays safe. Health and Diet Monty is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He has been dewormed and receives monthly prevention for both internal and external parasites. He is young, healthy, and has no known allergies. Monty eats dry kibble twice daily and is maintaining excellent health. He is ready to travel to his forever home. Ideal Home Monty is an easygoing and loving dog who could fit well into many types of households. He is wonderful with people and gets along well with other friendly dogs. He would be happy as the only dog in the home, receiving all the attention, or living with a gentle canine companion. We would especially love for Monty to join a family that can spend plenty of time with him. A home where someone works from home, is retired, or has a flexible schedule would be ideal so he does not need to be left alone for long hours. Most of all, Monty is hoping for a home where he will be deeply loved and cherished. He is ready to give his whole heart to his forever family. ------------------------------- For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/monty-2/
