My story

Hi there! My name’s Nova, and I’m a 6–8&#226&#128&#145month&#226&#128&#145old heeler mix with a whole lot of sparkle, spunk, and silly puppy charm. I’m on the lookout for my forever family — someone who’s ready for adventure, loves a good laugh, and doesn’t mind when one of my ears stands tall while the other flops over like it forgot what it was supposed to do. (It’s a whole vibe. My signature look.) Let me tell you a little bit about me and why you’re going to totally fall in love… My Story Back in January, I was picked up as a stray in Mexico. I know, right? I’ve already lived an international life! A super&#226&#128&#145kind volunteer from Central Arizona Animal Rescue brought me safely across the border and gave me a warm place to land. I’ve been learning all about being a loved and cared&#226&#128&#145for pup ever since. And guess what? I just got spayed last week — so I'm officially ready to pack my snacks, kiss my foster humans goodbye, and trot my way into my brand&#226&#128&#145new forever home. My Personality Okay, so real talk: I’ve got energy. I mean, I’m a young heeler — it comes standard. Zoomies? Yep. Play bows? Absolutely. A sudden bolt across the yard because a leaf dared to move? Every. Single. Time. I LOVE other dogs and I’m super social, but I play like a big kid at recess. Some smaller or more delicate pups think I’m “a bit much,” but I promise I’m not trying to be extra — I just haven’t figured out my settings yet. But that’s where you come in! I’m Smart… Like, Really Smart I’m the kind of girl who learns fast. Tell me what you want, show me the ropes, and boom — I’ll have it down. I just need a family who will help teach me that humans don’t play the same way dogs do. (Apparently jumping on people isn’t considered a greeting? Who knew!) If you enjoy training, bonding, and watching a young pup light up the moment she “gets it,” I am your girl. What About Kids? I’m still a bouncy, mouthy, enthusiastic puppy, so I might be a bit overwhelming for tiny humans. I don’t mean any harm — I just have big feelings and fast feet! Older kids or adults would be perfect, or even a home with no kids where we can be adventure buddies all on our own. Cats? Honestly… I Could Learn I’m young enough that with proper introductions and some supervision, I can totally learn to live with cats. I don’t come preprogrammed, but I’m a quick study! Maintenance Level: Low You won’t need a stylist on call for me. My grooming needs are easy-peasy — a quick bath, a towel rub, and I’m good to go. I’m not going to get too big either, so I’ll be the perfect compact companion for road trips, trail runs, hikes, or even just hanging out on the patio with you. &#239&#184&#143 My Dream Home I imagine a life full of: Hiking Running Exploring Road trips Playing with other dogs Learning cool new tricks Snuggling after a long day of fun If you’re active, outdoorsy, and want a dog who’ll match your enthusiasm stride for stride, I’m basically your soulmate on four paws. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 My Stats (for the grown&#226&#128&#145ups) 6–8 months old Heeler mix Spayed Current on vaccinations Microchipped Great with dogs (but energetic!) Trainable, smart, and eager to learn Low grooming needs Best for active homes Want to Meet Me? I really, really want to meet you. If you think we’re a good match, please email: mike@caaronline.org Tell them Nova sent you. I’m ready for my forever family — could it be you?   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis.
