My story

Daisy is a beautiful 4-year-old Old English Sheepdog weighing approximately 65 lbs. She is typically kept shaved for easier coat maintenance and comfort. True to her breed, she is incredibly loyal and happiest when she’s right by your side. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who wants to be your shadow, Daisy is your girl. Daisy was surrendered through no fault of her own. She previously lived with a toddler and became uncomfortable with the unpredictability that can come with little ones — running, grabbing, and tugging just weren’t her thing. Some dogs simply do not enjoy living with young children, and Daisy let her feelings be known by growling when she felt unsafe. Because of this, she is looking for a calm, adult-only home where she can relax and feel secure. While she did live with another dog, her foster mom has observed that Daisy prefers to be the boss. She would do best as the only dog in the home, where she doesn’t have to share her space. That said, she absolutely enjoys social time — she loves running with the neighbour’s dog and has had many successful outdoor playdates over the years. She just prefers her own home turf to herself. No cats or other small animals please, as she does have a prey drive. Daisy is: Housetrained Crate trained (though she doesn’t really need it) Not destructive Spayed An excellent car passenger (she loves car rides!) She enjoys lounging on the couch or curling up in a cozy ball on the floor after a good run. She especially loves swimming in the lake and would be thrilled with a home that enjoys cottage days or time near the water. A fully fenced yard is a must, as she loves to stretch her legs and explore safely. On leash, Daisy pulls and will need continued work on her leash manners. She will need a confident handler who can manage her strength and help her learn to walk politely by your side. With consistency and structure, she is very capable of improving. As with all Old English Sheepdogs, Daisy will require regular professional grooming to keep her coat healthy and comfortable. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and devoted companion to share your home (and your couch), Daisy may just be the perfect match. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt DAISY, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
