My story

 QUICK FACTS  Name: Joa Age: 1 year and a half Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Chihuahua mix  Color: Light brown Weight: 4.5kg / 10lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed    MY RESCUE STORY  I was once roaming the streets all alone, unsure of how I ended up there. Thankfully, a kind rescuer spotted me and brought me to safety. I was so lucky to be taken into temporary care—who knows what might have happened otherwise. Now I’m safe at the care facility, waiting for a brand-new chapter and a forever family who will love and cherish me.    MY HEALTH  • All vaccinations up-to-date • Spayed & healthy with no known health issues    MY PERSONALITY  I’m even smaller and cuter in person! I absolutely love sitting on your lap and am happiest when I’m close to my people. Volunteers and staff often say I look just like a little stuffed doll. I’m respectful and gently cautious, but at heart I’m truly a people’s dog who thrives on human companionship and loves being by your side.    MY SOCIAL SKILLS  · With People: I absolutely love interacting with people! I’m comfortable being picked up, and one of my favorite places to be is right on your lap for cuddles. I enjoy greeting new friends and soaking up all the pets and affection I can get. I haven’t had much experience with kids under 13 yet, but with my gentle and sweet nature, I’m confident I would do well with respectful children. · With Dogs: I like to greet new dog friends and am generally calm around them. I don’t rush into play right away and often prefer doing my own thing. While I get along well with other dogs, I’m truly more of a people’s pup and love getting attention and affection from my humans. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit!   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY  I’m a chill, calm girl with a mellow energy and a low-key personality. I don’t ask for much—just a little time to roam around outside and enjoy the fresh air. After that, I’m happiest curled up on your lap, snuggling indoors. I’m truly a little couch potato who loves cozy, peaceful moments with my people.    TRAINING & HABITS  I walk nicely on leash and do a great job following my handler’s lead. I’m respectful around food and don’t guard with people or other dogs. I rarely bark and am generally a very quiet girl. I know how to rest calmly in my kennel and prefer doing my potty outdoors.    MY IDEAL HOME  I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • Ideally the only dog in the household as I’m more of a people’s pup – not an absolute requirement however! I will do well with calm & respectful dog siblings    SPECIAL NOTES  Hi, I’m Joa. I may be calm and quiet on the outside, but I have a big, loving heart inside. I thrive on human companionship and truly enjoy being close to my people—whether that’s sitting beside you or curling up in your lap. I don’t ask for much, just a peaceful home where I can feel safe and loved. With my gentle nature and mellow energy, I adjust well and bring a comforting presence wherever I go.
