My story

Mona is a 4-year-old Lab x Bully mix who found her way to the shelter as a stray and is now ready for a fresh start. This lovely lady is the perfect blend of calm and playful: happy to enjoy downtime, but always up for an adventure when it’s time to move! Mona may be on the smaller side, but don’t let that fool you—she’s strong and delightfully chunky, so she’ll do best with an active, confident handler who can keep up with her zest for life. She’s currently working on her glow-up (goodbye smelly coat and extra fluff!), and with regular exercise and enrichment, she’ll be feeling her best in no time. She can be a bit shy with invasive handling and appreciates slow, gentle introductions. Give her a little time and space, and she warms up quickly—rewarding you with a full-body wag and the kind of affection that melts your heart. Mona is an active, playful girl who will thrive with daily walks, fun games, and mental stimulation. She knows how to sit, but she’s still learning her manners and can get a bit jumpy when excited, so continued positive-reinforcement training will help her shine. She’s done well meeting another small female dog at the shelter and may enjoy a canine companion who can match her energy. Because Mona can be vocal in her kennel, an unattached home would be ideal for her comfort and success. Overall, Mona is a sweet but sensitive girl looking for a patient, loving home that will give her the time she needs to feel safe and confident.
