Luna is a sweet and resilient little dog, estimated to be about 2–3 years old and weighing around 22–25 pounds, with a truly inspiring story. She was found emaciated in the middle of a highway in Barbados, where her rescuer is currently attending medical school, and was brought to the United States during a school break so she could have a real chance at finding a loving home. Because Luna spent much of her life surviving as a street dog, she is still learning what it means to live in a home and be someone’s pet, but she is making wonderful progress. She is leash trained, crate trained, rides well in the car, and gets along well with cats, dogs, children, and adults. Luna can be a bit timid and skittish when first meeting new people, but with a little patience she warms up and reveals her affectionate, gentle, and sometimes goofy personality. She absolutely loves attention, food, and curling up close to her person, and once she feels safe she becomes very attached—happily following you around like a little shadow and settling in as a loving lap companion.
