My story

Meet Callaway, an approximately 3 year old American Bully with a fawn and white coat, soulful matching eyes, and a strong, athletic, compact build that shows he definitely does not skip leg day. He is handsome, confident, and impossible not to admire. Callaway came to Chicago Animal Care and Control when his owner could no longer give him the time he deserved. Despite that change, he has kept a happy, positive outlook and is ready for a fresh start with a family who can give him the love, attention, and companionship he truly thrives on. Callaway does well with other dogs and is comfortable sharing his space. He would enjoy having a canine companion to play and roughhouse with, but he is also content being an only dog. He is respectful of boundaries and knows how to peacefully coexist. He has not been tested with cats, but he does share a yard with chickens in a secure coop and has shown little interest in them. He has not yet had the opportunity to meet children, so his comfort level with kids is currently unknown. Cal is a playful, fun loving guy who enjoys games of fetch and going on adventures. He walks beautifully on leash, does great in the car, and would be a wonderful match for an active person or family who likes to get out and explore. When the fun is done, he settles easily and loves being close to his person. He is the kind of dog who wants to be your shadow, your sidekick, and your steady, loyal companion. He is truly best friend material. Callaway is funny, incredibly handsome, smart, eager to please, affectionate, and deeply engaged with his people. He makes great eye contact, pays attention, and genuinely wants to do the right thing. He will make you laugh, keep you company, and be there for you through every adventure. Treat motivated does not even begin to cover it. Cal would do just about anything for a snack and will happily learn new skills with enthusiasm and his big, adorable smile. He already knows sit, down, wait, and paw, and he is currently working on crate training. Playful, loyal, and full of joy, Callaway is ready to find his person and finally have the life he deserves.
