Capturing hearts wherever he goes, he’s Dobby, the Elf-eared Sphynx kitten!Dobby is a sweet, playful boy who was surrendered because he was born with a defect to his left eye. In Harry Potter, Dobby the elf is a memorable and lovable character, so our Dobby suits his name perfectly. However, instead of seeking freedom like his house-elf namesake, Dobby the kitten is dreaming of life as a cherished pet.ABOUT DOBBY- In foster- Dobby is young and craves play and attention. Did someone say “camera”? This boy is happy to dress up in adorable outfits and pose for photoshoots. #Dobby is about to go viral! - Fun fact: The Sphynx cat breed originated in Toronto in 1966 when a shorthair cat gave birth to a hairless kitten named “Prune.” - Sphynx cats are naturally hairless; unfortunately, that doesn’t mean they’re hypoallergenic.- Dobby requires regular baths to keep his soft skin from getting oily, and while he loves his stylish outfits, he also requires practical clothing at times (like trips to the vet) to keep him warm. - Dobby loves to bury himself in blankets. Heads up! Before lying down on the bed, his foster parents tap around to check for a Dobby-sized lump, as this sweet boy loves to nap with his humans. - Dobby’s foster mom describes him as “pure, cuddly sweetness and charm” and an “expert snuggler.” - Unlike his namesake, Dobby is terrified of the vacuum and probably wouldn’t make the best house elf. That’s okay, he can make his fortune as an influencer instead! - Dobby is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations. DOBBY’S IDEAL HOME- While Dobby loves his cuddle time, young cats require ample and mindful stimulation from their humans and should go to a home where he can receive the attention and playtime he needs. - Dobby is dog-friendly. He gives play bows and jumps to the resident poodle in his foster home, and then the two enjoy a snuggle.- He has not yet interacted with kids, but due to his sweet nature he would do well in a home with cat-savvy, older children. No wee ones please, as Dobby is prone to hiding in blankets and could get hurt accidentally by an over-enthusiastic greeting. - We aren’t yet sure how Dobby feels about other felines.- Due to the number of applications expected for Dobby, EHS will prioritize applicants with vet references. As Dobby famously said, “such a beautiful pla
