Scruffy

My story

Meet Scruffy! He is a 6-year-old longhaired black cat with a gentle soul who was originally found as a stray and later lived with his finder for a period of time. Big changes can be overwhelming for him, and he’s been understandably nervous adjusting to new spaces. To help set him up for success, adopters should plan to start Scruffy in a single, quiet room where he can feel safe as he begins to settle in. He may seek out very good hiding spots at first, sometimes ones that are hard to find, as he takes time to decompress.Scruffy will need a patient, calm household where everyone understands that trust takes time. Spending time with him each day—sitting quietly, offering gentle interaction, and letting him approach on his own terms—will be important for building a strong bond. He may struggle in a busy or noisy home, and it’s currently unknown how he would do with children given his fear levels. With slow, thoughtful introductions, Scruffy may do well with other cats. In the right environment, with patience and consistency, he has the potential to blossom into a devoted companion.Scruffy is a charming and affectionate cat who has been waiting since 01/21/2026, eager to bring love, playful energy, and cozy cuddles to his forever home!
