My story

Miss Bellum is a former feral cat who was rescued from the outdoors along with her kittens, who were just a few weeks old at the time. Initially, she was extremely fearful and defensive, often hissing or swatting when she felt threatened. But after months of dedicated socialization and lots of Churu tube treats (her absolute favorite!), she has made incredible progress and has officially transformed from a meanie panini to a cute patootie! She is happy being indoors and has learned to enjoy the company of humans.Miss Bellum is still very shy, but she has “safe zones” where she feels comfortable and secure, such as her window hammock or the hut in her cat tower. In these areas, she allows gentle pets and happily interacts with her humans without feeling the urge to run away and will sometimes reward her human with soft, quiet purrs. She is independent and prefers to approach people on her own terms. She does not like being held or picked up but she does enjoy affection when she feels safe. After her kittens were adopted, Miss Bellum had the chance to meet and live alongside several other foster kittens who she graciously shared her space with. She learned a great deal from them, becoming more curious, confident, and willing to interact with humans. She has formed a particularly sweet bond with a kitten named BMO, who encourages her bravery and companionship. Miss Bellum would likely do best in a home with a friendly, patient cat who can show her the ropes, or she could also be adopted alongside BMO. Miss Bellum will need a very patient adopter who can continue to help her feel comfortable indoors and allow her the time and love to come out of her shell. With the right environment, she will continue to blossom, showing her humans gentle affection and quiet, sweet companionship.Miss Bellum is negative for FIV and FeLV. She had a recent dental that involved removing a broken tooth. Like all ACR cats, Miss Bellum is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites.
