My story

DOB: August 22nd, 2021 Pheonix came from a hoarding situation and its taken him a bit of time to learn to trust humans. He spent a few months at the vet along with his brothers as they were all very hissy and growly. Since coming to their foster home, all have settled down, and no one has hissed or growled since. In fact, if there is one word that could be used to describe Pheonix, it would be that he is a lover. There is nothing he loves to do more than snuggle on the couch with brothers. Together they have a habit of spreading out and taking over the whole thing. Often, he will be found being groomed by his brother Echo. The only other thing he really loves besides his brother is catnip. As soon as it comes out, he will be there. Pheonix is still a bit nervous in general. While he will happily spread out cuddling his brothers, he is most secure when his brother Echo is close by and will even lie with his belly exposed. When the two of them are together, Pheonix joins in when Echo is being petted. He seems a bit confused as he really enjoys it but still not sure about humans touching him. When he is in one of his safe spots, he will often stay there and just watch as things happen around him – he will even watch the vacuum cleaner. When he has had enough, or gets too nervous, he will simply run away. He is curious about humans however, and when new people come over he will come out to see them but keeps his distance. Although he can’t easily be pet and certainly not picked up, he does like to sleep near his foster mother. Considering how much he has progressed so far in his current home, given patience and love he will certainly become a loving member of any household. Because he came from a hoarding situation he will need a home with another friendly cat. He would most certainly love it if he could go to a home with one of his brothers, Echo or Marlowe

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Pheonix, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
