My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Stitch 3-year-old Merle Bulldog Mix | One blue eye | 100% bulldog energy, opinions, and audacity Stitch is the kind of dog who looks like a Disney character and acts like a WWE wrestler who means well. He’s hilarious, handsome, and full of personality—but make no mistake… this is not a beginner bulldog. The Good Stuff (aka why you’ll fall in love):     •    Certified cutie with a chaos streak     •    Walks nicely on leash like a civilized gentleman     •    Crate trained, house trained, and great in the car     •    Very friendly and loves being part of the action     •    Has worked HARD on learning how to play appropriately     •    Can now play with toys and disengage without losing his marbles (growth!!)     •    Doing much better with self-regulation, especially with dogs who have clear boundaries     •    Extremely food motivated and has learned how to use that drive for good—he picks up training very quickly and loves having a job The Fine Print (please read, seriously):     •    No young kids — Stitch is boisterous, pushy, and forgets his size     •    Must live with another dog of similar size and compatible play style     •    No reactive dogs, no high-drive dogs — that combo = bad decisions     •    He can get overstimulated and go over threshold if play isn’t managed     •    Needs structure, consistency, and humans who believe in rules (even when he’s cute)     •    He’s improved massively, but still requires management and supervision during play Food Snob Alert (and Training Cheat Code): Stitch has some sensitivities and is currently thriving on a raw diet. His future family must be willing to continue raw or work with us to transition him carefully to a kibble that works with his genetics. Bonus: Stitch is VERY food motivated, which makes training a dream when done properly. He’s learned how to channel that drive into focus, engagement, and good choices—and he loves working for his meals. Enrichment Is Not Optional To be the best version of himself, Stitch requires both mental and physical enrichment. Walks alone won’t cut it—he thrives with training sessions, structured play, puzzles, sniffing, and activities that make him think. When his needs are met, he’s a rockstar. When they aren’t… well, bulldog opinions will be voiced. Bottom line: Stitch is not a couch potato. He’s not a project for someone who wants “easy.” He is hilarious, loving, loyal, and incredibly rewarding for the right home. Cute? Yes. Assholey? Also yes. Worth it? Absolutely—if you’re his people. Apply only if you respect bulldogs, boundaries, and the fact that Stitch runs a tight ship. https://www.hankshaven.ca/info/adoption Stitch’s welcome post https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CwK3Y5ygX/?mibextid=wwXIfrVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 16, 2026, 8:18 pm
