DOB May 5, 2024- FIV Positive Cruiser can be a little shy and cautious in a new environment, preferring to observe quietly while he gains confidence, but once he’s settled in and feels safe, his true personality shines, becoming incredibly affectionate and people-oriented. His absolute favourite way to bond is head-scrubs and chin massages; give him those and you’ll instantly win his heart! He loves staying close to his humans and will often follow you around. When he gets extra excited or playful, he may gently “bite” with his toothless mouth; it looks silly and definitely doesn’t hurt. He’s had all his teeth removed, so a wet food diet is recommended. Cruiser has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV+ cats can live long happy lives with a good diet, low stress, indoor homes, loving families, and annual vet check-ins. They don't require medication and can live in a home with other non-FIV+ cats, as the virus is only passed to other cats by blood (i.e. deep bite marks) and can't be passed to dogs or humans. Please don't judge them based on a blood test!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cruiser, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
