My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Riel Age: 3 years old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Jindo–Spitz Mix Color: Brown & White Weight: 8kg / 17.6lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued by Dongbo Animal Rescue from the euthanasia list at the Asan City Shelter. I am now staying in a loving foster home with Nolgadagae, where I am slowly learning to trust and enjoy a safer, happier life.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues     MY PERSONALITY Hi there, I’m a small and adorable girl. My appearance is even cuter in person! I may be shy at first around new people, but if you give me some time, I will come to you quickly. I’m a Level 2 rescue dog, which means I may feel a little timid at first, but I adjust quickly once I feel comfortable. I already know some basic commands like sit and wait, which shows I have experience living in a home.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy at first, but I warm up quickly when offered treats and soon become comfortable being touched. I have not had experience meeting children under the age of 13. I can be gently lifted by placing an arm under my belly and holding me securely. · With Dogs: I will approach unfamiliar dogs to say hello, but I usually do not engage in play. I tend to be more comfortable and friendly with dogs larger than myself. If another dog challenges or provokes me, I may respond, so careful introductions and supervision are recommended when meeting new dogs. · With Cats: My reaction to cats has not yet been observed.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level and enjoy outdoor activities, but I like to relax calmly afterward. I tend to pull on the leash, but I generally follow my human well. During walks, I often stop to sniff around more than focusing on walking, so I may go back and forth frequently.   TRAINING & HABITS I may bark to express my needs or when I want something. I also tend to bark at strangers. However, I am calm and well behaved when placed in a kennel. I usually go to the bathroom outdoors.   MY IDEAL HOME I would thrive in a home where I have patient humans who can give me time to warm up to new people. A household with older children or adults would be best, as I sometimes assert myself around smaller kids. I get along well with other dogs, especially larger ones, and enjoy gentle interactions. A family who enjoys calm outdoor activities and is willing to offer treats and affection will help me feel happy and secure.   SPECIAL NOTES I was brought into foster care by Dongbo Animal Rescue when they urgently needed someone to take me in. That was already a year and a half ago. At first, I was very cautious and would run away. If someone tried to hold me, I would turn my head away. My foster wanted me to live freely, so they gave me time and space to adjust. Over time, I started to become calmer and kinder. I began approaching people on my own, and I no longer turned my head away. This is when I started dreaming about finding my forever home. These days, I greet familiar people first, enjoy being held, and have built strong bonds with those around me. Staff even recommended I have my own profile to meet potential adopters. I can still be shy around strangers, but I am curious and gradually warm up to new people. I get along well with other dogs, especially larger ones, but I sometimes assert myself around small children. Despite this, my small size and adorable looks have encouraged me to find a loving family through adoption.   Riel's YouTube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2614473##
