Lexi

My story

Meet Lexi — the little sweetheart who somehow ended up in a shelter, and to this day we still can't figure out why. She’s about three years old, weighs in at a perfect 38 pounds, and tiptoes around on the tiniest, cutest paws you've ever seen. She looks just like a mini Norwegian Elkhound with all the classic features: the dark-yet-soft, expressive face and eyes, the plush coat, and the cutest curled-up tail. Lexi is a sensitive soul who lives to make her people happy. She walks beautifully on a leash, responds to a gentle "no" like she's been studying your language for years, and has this soft, earnest way of looking at you that melts your whole heart. In foster, she's been the easygoing diplomat of the house — happy with playful puppies, older "in charge" dogs, and everything in between. Her little curly tail does a fast buzzy wag the moment she sees you. Mealtime is peak Lexi: she sits politely, waits patiently, and then looks up with those big soulful eyes as if to say, "Is that...for me?" She sleeps quietly through the night, is lovely when left alone, and mainly just wants to be near her person, ... not clingy, just quietly devoted. She even met equines (well, mini donkeys), once, gave a single "um, excuse me?" bark, and deciding her dog friends were much more interesting. Curiosity satisfied, she trotted off without a fuss. Lexi is gentle, funny, tender, and so ready for her forever home. If you want a soft-hearted companion who brings sweetness instead of chaos, come meet Lexi.
