My story

Meet Rudy (AKA Rudy the Cutie) This 7‑year‑old, 8‑pound terrier boy recently lost his person, and he’s been bravely learning that life can be joyful again. With each passing day, Rudy is rediscovering fun, connection, and all the routines that make a dog feel safe and loved. Rudy’s best qualities: • Great eater and motivated by treats • Walks beautifully on leash • Potties outside • Curious about toys • Seeks human affection and connection • LOVES walks — he’s surprisingly athletic for a little guy • Good with other dogs • Shy at first but warms up quickly with kindness (and snacks) • Happy tail‑wagger • Not a barker Rudy bonds deeply with his humans and may express some separation anxiety with howling when left alone. He’s not being “naughty” — he just loves his people and is still adjusting to big changes in his life. With patience, routine, and reassurance, he’ll continue to grow more confident. Rudy’s adoption fee is $ 275 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.
