My story

MEET CLETUS: A smart boy looking for a quiet life. Are you looking for a dog who is content to be a couch potato during the day but an athlete in the mornings? Meet Cletus (aka Cleetwood Mac)! Cletus is a misunderstood intellectual. He is incredibly smart, potty trained (never had an accident!), and non-destructive in the home. However, Cletus is an introvert. He finds strangers overwhelming and has a strict "no petting" policy until he knows you well. He can be protective of his food and toys, so he needs a home that honors his personal bubble. Why you’ll love him: Once Cletus trusts you, the walls come down. He becomes a loyal, cuddly friend who wants to sleep under the fan near you. He is a foodie who will do anything for a piece of purple sweet potato or a Trader Joe’s treat. He is also a dream to live with—he respects the home and loves his crate. What he needs to thrive: A "Respectful Roommate" vibe: We let Cletus come to us. We don't force affection. A Quiet Kingdom: No children and no other pets. Cletus finds "tiny humans" scary and needs to be the only animal in the house. A Secure Environment: Because of his prey drive for small animals, he cannot be off-leash in unfenced areas. Patience: Cletus may snap if pushed too fast by strangers. He needs an advocate who will tell guests, "Please ignore the dog," so Cletus feels safe.
