Let’s welcome Norris, who’s not from the North. Not from north, nor from south, Norris hails from the west—Hamilton, to be more precise. Understandably perturbed by his recent change of location, this handsome orange and white boy continues to adjust to his new environment while he waits to meet a family to call his own. ABOUT NORRIS- In foster- Norris spends most of his time nestled in his cat tree. So cozy!- Although shy, our gentle boy will accept pets by hand. Approach him slowly to give him time to get used to you; he really is a teddy bear. - Norris is most relaxed while being touched when he’s in a cubby rather than out in the open.- While at the shelter, his sweet nature charmed many of our shelter volunteers. It’s easy to fall in love with such a gentle soul! - He feels most comfortable having his meals delivered directly to him and wastes no time polishing off his plate. Might food be a way to his heart?- Speaking of food, Norris loves treats (who doesn’t) and will even lick Churu right off your finger! - Norris will sometimes lean into chin or cheek scratches and he has even purred a few times when receiving affection. He used to cringe and flatten his ears when first touched, but he no longer does this. Now that’s progress!- Norris had dental surgery earlier this year, and since then, he seems to be getting more and more relaxed. His pain had him on edge, but now that he’s feeling better, he’s getting more comfortable with physical affection!- He is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans. - Norris was enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers were working to help him become more comfortable around people.- He is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and up to date on core vaccinations.NORRIS’ IDEAL HOME- As we continue to get to know this sweet boy, we will be able to determine the type of home where Norris will thrive.- A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children.- Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Norris settle into his new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Norris with a successful transition to his forever home.- As his past is a mystery, contact with other animals is unknown. Whether he is open to sharing a home with a compatible feline
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Norris, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
