My story

CHARLIE — The Royal Lady of Freedom Frenchie Rescue Darling, allow me to introduce myself properly — I’m Charlie, a 4.5-year-old French Bulldog with class, grace, and the kind of poise that could make the Queen of England clutch her pearls. In fact, I never leave home without mine. Personality: At about 22 pounds, I’m the perfect mix of petite and polished. I’m potty trained, know my basic commands, and I aim to please — especially when treats are involved. I adore being around my fur friends, but my heart truly belongs to my humans. I do not resource guard and if someone wants a bite of my food I share. Maybe I am a push over, but a real Queen should feed the hungry. Let’s not forget about sical events I must look my best and I absolutely love going out to socialize at Pixie Sticks Dog Boutique and other events in the community. A few times we went to Starbuck and I was dotted on my nearly everyone. I can’t go a week without a puppachino (I can’t have a cup of tea…obviously). Sometimes I get a little nervous when my foster mom leaves, worried that I might be forgotten or left behind again, so I like to keep a watchful eye — it’s just my way of learning that love really does stay. My foster mom always comes back for me — whether it’s from a quick potty break or after a vet appointment — and that consistency has helped me build trust and confidence every single day. Medical/Health: Freedom Frenchie Rescue was called because a good sam found me wandering the streets of Mesa, I was absolutely filthy — hardly fitting for a lady of my stature! To make matters worse, I had two unwelcome guests: a mass in my mouth and another under my armpit. But I faced surgery with elegance and courage, and the results were fabulous. Both masses were successfully removed, and my lab work came back sparkling clean. The doc did mention the one in my mouth could return but we just have to keep an eye on it. At this time, I am trying to get some of my fur back but baths have been on hold while I have stitches. I’m not patchy, my fur is just a little thin. I am on a great diet and probiotic with hair growth. Now that I’ve recovered, I’m living my best life — and yes, I insist on looking my best while doing it. A cute outfit? Always. A little bow or sweater? But of course! I am as docile as they come, but don’t let that fool you — I have just the right amount of sass and confidence to keep things interesting. When my foster mom calls me, sometimes I make her wait just a few seconds… because a queen never rushes. Particular home needs: I’d love a home where I can play a little, be carried like the princess I am, and snuggle endlessly. I’m also a great traveler — I don’t mind long car rides, and I’m perfectly content taking a nap on the seat or resting right on the center console (yes, completely in your face). If you’re looking for a companion who brings elegance, gratitude, and a touch of royal charm into your life, I’m ready to reign in your home and your heart. Adopt me — and let’s rule the couch together. I am spay vaccinated, and microchipped, my adoption donation fee is $1050.00. You can apply for my greatness at freedomfrenchierescue.org, and I am currently being fostered in Mesa, AZ.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Charlie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
