My story

Hannie / Female / 2 Months / 16lbs / Mixed Breed / Good with Dogs / Good with Kids / Could be good with cats / From Manitoba / Fostered in Toronto Hannie is one of nine pups rescued with their mom from Manitoba after being displaced by wildfires. Their mom, a gentle 40 lb dog, cared for them until a local rescue stepped in to bring them to safety. Now old enough to start her own adventure, Hannie is thriving in foster care and ready to meet her forever family. Hannie’s foster describes her as clever, social, curious, brave, and feisty! She is a playful girl and will lay and wait for you to walk past her then jump and pounce on your feet. She gathers up her toys and brings them to you. When you lift her up, she likes to paw your cheese and give kisses. Hannie is curious about the world. She may be initially shy when meeting new people but is curious and pulls towards them on walks. With people she knows, she is friendly and excited. We believe Hannie would do well in a home with respectful children. Hannie is fostered with a resident dog and would likely love a dog sibling. She keeps up on walks, engages in play, and follows other dogs for confidence. Hannie’s adopters will need to make sure her exercise and enrichment needs are met. She loves sniffing all around during her walks. Hannie’s adopters should be prepared for all things puppy – potty training, shark teeth, and curiosity. Hannie is working on potty training and has recently slept through the night. Her new family should be prepared for and adjustment period. If you are looking for an active, happy, curious girl, Hannie could be your new family member! About YOU! Puppies are a lot of work. At just 11 weeks old, we are looking for families with FLEXIBLE work schedules and the time and energy to invest in socialization and training. Yes they are tiny and oh-so-cute cute, but we can pretty much guarantee that they will: - Pee and poop on your floor - Chew your furniture - Eat your designer handbag - Ruin your leisurely Sunday morning sleep in As a condition of the adoption contract, their new families will be required to: - Ensure they have an opportunity to go outside every 2-3 hours. If you work full-time, this means hiring a dog walker to come in 2x per day for a puppy visit. - Attend and complete a basic obedience class at your own cost (proof required) - Provide plenty of socialization opportunities – both dog and human – it's critically important at this stage - Spay within 6 months of adoption. If done at our partner vet in Mississauga, the spay will be included in the adoption fee. If you choose to do it elsewhere, it will be done at your own cost. Proof of neuter is required to finalize the adoption. If you’re interested in adopting Hannie, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Hannie’s adoption fee is $1000. To learn more about our adoption fees and the adoption process, please visit our FAQs at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/about-us#about-faqs.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hannie - Adoption Pending, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
