My story

Hari / Male / 1 year / 44 lbs / Collie Mix / Good with Dogs / Good with Kids / Untested with Cats / From Hamilton / Fostered in Toronto Say hello to Hari! A Hamilton-born stray, Hari has hopped into the laps of his foster parents and is now looking for his furever home. Smart, social, and oh-so-snuggly, Hari is a high-energy pup that would do well with a yard and another dog (or equally high-energy human) to frolic with. Hari hasn't met a human he doesn't immediately love. His enthusiasm for people is only matched by his gentle and curious nature. He trots up to everyone with his tail wagging and a smile on his face, eager for pets and belly rubs. He's super snuggly with his people, and despite his size, would love to cuddle up on your lap for a lazy afternoon. But those lazy afternoons will be few and far between. As a younger Collie mix, Hari has all the energy you'd expect from a yearling pup. He'll need plenty of walks and playtime, and would do well with a big yard or a nearby park to expend that seemingly endless well of energy. Another dog would be just the thing for Hari. Besides having an older sibling to show him the ropes, it'd give someone Hari to play with. He's just as excited and gentle with other dogs as he is with people, starting with curious sniffs before zooming away with delight. He hasn't been tested with cats, but given Hari's temperament, he'd probably be just fine with an understanding feline who won't begrudge his puppy energy and curiosity. The downside to being oh-so-loving of people is that he has a bit of separation anxiety. However, Hari is smart, resilient, and a quick learner. With the right structure and a bit of training, we're certain that Hari will learn that people come back if they go out for a night or two. Hari doesn't like being away from his people and he doesn't like vacuums (but that will also likely ease with habituation). What he loves are people, pets, playing fetch, and a kong filled with peanut butter, pumpkin, and wet dog food. He also loves apples, bones, and leaning on you when he wants snuggles (which are fairly frequent and super cute). Crate training is underway, and while Hari is generally potty-trained, he could do with a better system for indicating when he needs to be let out (and also a backyard to have a quick pee break). Suburban households would be ideal, but urbanites with access to a dog park could also be a good fit for Hari. Make Hari your huggable pup today!
