My story

*SHILOH HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!* ** A VERY GENEROUS DONOR IS SPONSORING $175 OF SHILOH'S ADOPTION FEE, ALONG WITH THE FEES OF HIS LITTERMATES, TO REDUCE THEIR ADOPTION FEES TO $300 IN HOPES THEY'LL FIND THEIR FOREVER FAMILIES SOON!** Handsome, charming, affectionate, intelligent, playful, and oh, so sweet! Lovable Shiloh checks all the boxes and is looking for a forever family. Shiloh is a happy, good-natured guy who lights up a room with his radiant smile and charismatic personality. Shiloh's hobbies and interests include making friends with every human and canine he meets, taking long walks around the neighborhood, playing with Nylabones, tennis balls, and rope toys, chasing squirrels, and most of all, just being with the people he loves. Shiloh was initially rescued from an overwhelmed animal control facility in rural Kentucky, along with his six littermates, when they were just eight weeks old. Shelters and rescues across the US are in crisis, adoptions have slowed considerably over the past 18 months, and surrenders and intakes are way up. In previous years, puppies in shelters and rescues were generally adopted quickly, often as soon as they became available. Unfortunately, within the past year, it has become more often the rule than the exception that very friendly, adoptable dogs, including puppies, remain in shelters or foster care for many months before being adopted. Casualties of this current shelter and rescue crisis, Shiloh and four littermates have grown up in foster care while awaiting adoption. These sweet pups are more than ready and anxious to find the loving, forever families they so deserve. Approaching 7 months old and weighing over 50 pounds, Shiloh will be a larger dog (70+ pounds) when fully mature. A DNA test performed on two littermates identifies their breed mix as 35% Bluetick Coonhound, 27%. German Shepherd, 23% Husky, 15% Staffordshire Terrier. Shiloh loves a good run around the yard and game of fetch, but also loves lounging around and sunbathing on the deck. He's not a hyper or overly active dog and is more mellow than many pups his age. Still, he is a puppy, and potential adopters expect to continue his training and provide the guidance, structure, patience, and love that all puppies and adolescent dogs need to develop into exceptional canine citizens as adults. Shiloh is crate trained and progressing very well with his housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. If Shiloh sounds like the pup you've been searching for, please reach out today! He's anxious and eager to meet you. Shiloh is fostered in Chicago, and meetings are arranged by appointment only after an adoption application has been received and approved. For more information or to apply, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit our website at palsplacerescue.org. Shiloh's adoption fee is $300 (Reduced from $475 thanks to a generous sponsorship). This fee helps to cover his medical expenses while in our care. He is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines, and is taking monthly flea/heartworm preventatives. **PLEASE NOTE** initial correspondence from our rescue may end up in your junk or spam folder. Please check regulalry if you are awaiting a response from us. • All of our dogs reside in foster homes, and meetings are arranged by appointment only after our adoption application has been completed and approved for adoption. For more information or to apply, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit our website at palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for more than three days after an application has been received and approved for a meeting. Please do not apply to adopt unless you are ready to welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE FROM THE RESCUE MAY END UP IN YOUR SPAM OR JUNK FOLDER. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly. • Shiloh's adoption fee is $300. This fee helps to cover any necessary medical care to prepare him for adoption. Pal's Place relies solely on adoption fees and donations to care for the animals in our rescue. Your donation also helps save other dogs like Shiloh and his littermates from euthanasia. • Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application and put the dog's name in the subject line. Please check your spam or junk folder; sometimes, the applications end up there. We are a volunteer-run organization, and we strive to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours. However, please be patient, as it can sometimes take longer for a reply. • All of our dogs are in foster homes and can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an approved application has been received. For more information, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shiloh (ADOPTED!), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
