My story

Make a stop for Scooter!!!The road to happiness has been bumpy for Scooter. After being rescued from living a hard-scrabble life on the streets, she was adopted from EHS in 2019. It turns out that home wasn’t meant to be her final destination, and she is now taking a detour to living her best retirement life.ABOUT SCOOTER- At shelter- Scooter remained securely parked at the base of the cat tree when she first arrived, but she’s showing hints of curiosity that have resulted in at least one short cruise outside of her kennel to check out the sights. - As her comfort level and trust increase, Scooter will sometimes shift gears to accept pets with a back-scratcher. However, she’s still in the early stages of getting used to human touch, and some days she may be stuck in neutral or reverse, backing away with a hiss. - Scooter is showing signs of being food-motivated, sometimes even eating little piles of treats in front of people. - We’re just beginning to see Scooter’s playful side. On her previous pit stop with EHS she especially loved feather toys and rope wands! - Scooter is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people.- Some skittish cats may remain reserved, while others may express their trust and affection in a variety of ways.- Scooter is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.SCOOTER’S IDEAL HOME- A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children.- Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Scooter settle into her new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Scooter with a successful transition to her forever home.Scooter is looking for a new permanent parking spot! Do you have a space for her in your heart? If you have any questions about Scooter or the adoption process, please contact cats@etobicokehumanesociety.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Scooter, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
