My story

Hello! My name is Gemma!I am a timid girl but sweet as pie once I feel comfortable. I can be skittish of loud noises or sudden movements (loud vehicles can spook me!). I enjoy respectful dogs and having a dog friend in the home might help build my confidence as I seem to be more comfortable when with friends!I came in as a stray severely underweight. My GHS friends have implemented a special weight-gain diet for me so that I can safely put on weight until I get to my healthy target! I`m on the search for my new family, but I will be looking to go home through the Foster-to-Adopt program which will require regular check-ups at GHS to ensure I continue on my weight-gain path before being formally adopted.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers may be ok. No young children given my timid nature.OTHER DOGS: Yes, a home with a well-socialized dog would be preferred. CATS: Potentially, with a cat confident around dogs. FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: I would be best with someone who has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Recommended, so I have a safe space to explore and avoid stressful stimuli.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any with yard preferred.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.
