My story

Hi I’m Stingray! My moves are smooth, and I prefer to blend in with my surroundings. I’m a watcher, rather than joining in this chaos we call life. I have a tail, but it doesn’t have a barb, so no stinging from me! My claws may be sharp, but I promise to try and keep them to myself. Just like my name counterpart, I tend to be a bit more shy and reserved, finding quick movements a bit scary. When frightened, I will run away to my safe space to watch the world instead. So how did I get my name? Oh, would I love to share the story! My foster mama was so patient with me, waiting until I was ready for pets. Well one day, she lowered her hand down flat, palm to the floor. I was intrigued and walked over, then carefully under her hand. I had just gotten my first-ever pet! And all on my own terms! It felt so nice, so I did it again and again! My foster mom tried to move her hand to pet me, but that was WAY too scary, so we went back to the stingray way of pets! I am working on coming out of my shell, but it is taking some time. I thrive in a calm, quiet environment (just like how calming water can be!) with no small hoomans [is that how you spell it?]. On my journey to self confidence and bravery, I am still a bit unsure of other critters, but my foster mom is working SUPER hard with me. I’m interested in other kitties, but still too shy to say hello. If you think you can give me patience, time, and my favorite pets endlessly, I would love to meet you!! Stingray is an All-Star cat! My adoption comes with some extra benefits at time of adoption! Her adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and she will go home with a few enrichment goodies to help get her off to a good start! Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
