Taco is a high energy 2 year old lab mix pup who loves people, dogs, cats and everyone he meets. He came to our rescue because his family could no longer keep him, due to having a new kid. He currently lives with cats and young children and is great with both. He is also good with dogs he goes on playdates with. His ideal home would be with another dog and older children, but he could settle in with anyone willing to give him lots of attention. Taco wants to have a family and be a member of a human pack. He is good with cats, but needs supervision initially so his energy does not get the best of him. Taco has been through obedience training and knows his manners. He is house trained and enjoys daily walks with his person. Taco is really smart and loves puzzle feeders and enjoys his backyard, but would rather be with his family than alone in the yard. Taco weighs 56 pounds, neutered, microchipped and up to date with all vaccines including heart worm and flea protection. He is ready for his new home! Please open your heart for this sweet soul who wants to be part of your family. Taco is being fostered in Texas, and can travel to any state, and even Canada to the right home. To adopt our puppies, yards must be fully and adequately fenced. We do not accept invisible or electric fences. To meet this sweet pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application form via www.savesomesouls.com Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. If, after meeting a pup, the foster parent or the adoption applicant do not feel they are a good fit for each other, we often offer other pups who are better fit. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued from our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank You for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Taco, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
