My story

At 3 or 4 years old and just 8lbs, Sweetie is living proof that the best things come in small packages. Every single person who has met her has said the same thing: she is absolutely perfect. Sweetie is gentle, affectionate, and endlessly sweet—she melts into your arms and looks at you with eyes full of love. This spayed, vaccinated, and potty-trained girl clearly came from a home where she was adored. It’s hard to believe her family never came looking for her, because everything about her shows she has known love. Now, she’s ready to give that love back tenfold to her forever family. If you're looking for an amazing pup that is already so well behaved & sociable, Sweetie's your girl! Sweetie is wonderful with everyone she meets—dogs, humans, anyone lucky enough to cross her path. She’s been a little confused by the shelter, but her resilience and sweetness shine through. She is the kind of dog people dream about: easy, loving, and perfectly happy to be by your side. Sweetie would thrive in a home where she’s showered with affection and attention. She’s a social little girl (once comfortable with her new people) who thrives on companionship and would do best in a home with an individual or family (older children are preferred to avoid any tail-pulling or rough handling) who works from home or active retirees who can offer her the love and care he deserves. We'd like to place Sweetie in a home where she'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young girl whose self-esteem will fly high while she masters his skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Sweetie has been fully vetted, and she is in great health and up to date on her vaccines. She is spayed as well. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
