My story

Meey Monkey! Date of Birth: August 4, 2025  Breed: Chihuahua   Monkey is an adorable Chihuahua puppy who is ready to find her forever family! With her charming personality and sweet demeanor, this little girl is sure to brighten your days. Monkey and her family were surrendered from a breeder who could no longer care for them; her mom is a long-haired Chihuahua, and her dad has short hair. She is part of a social and playful bunch, bringing joy and fun wherever she goes! Monkey is a social pup who loves to interact with people. Due to her very small size (2lbs), she could be a possible tripping hazard, so she would do best in a home with older children who understand her delicate nature and adults who are cautious of their surroundings. Monkey has far too much energy for a senior citizen. She is not advised to live with large as their size and energy levels may pose a risk to her. Nor should she be paired with a senior dog as her energy level is one that most senior dogs are not thrilled with dealing with. Depending on whether she takes after her mom, Monkey may require grooming if she inherits her long hair. It’s important that her new family is prepared for regular grooming sessions to keep her looking and feeling her best. Experience with house training and crate training is crucial, as Monkey is still a young puppy who will need guidance and consistency. Puppies require a lot of attention and training, which can be demanding. We do not recommended thees puppies for senior citizens seeking a more manageable companion; a mature dog may be a more suitable choice. Having someone at home more often than not initially is strongly recommended, as it will help with continued socialization and establishing a routine for house training. Monkey has typical puppy energy, so she’s looking for a fun-loving family that can keep up with her playful spirit and engage her in activities that promote stimulation and growth. Monkey will go home with her new family in foster-to-adopt status until her spay surgery has been completed at 6 months (February 2026) at one of our partner veterinary offices (Chesterfield, Clawson, Clinton Twp, or Rochester), which is included in the adoption fee and is non-negotiable.
