My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog J:7This dog is available to meet by appointment only. After arriving at the shelter with her puppies, Aspen was shy and unsure. With time, patience, and the help of some doggy friends, she’s begun to bloom. Her resilience, sweetness, and playful spirit have captured the hearts of everyone who's met her. 2 years old and 65 pounds, Aspen is gentle, treat-motivated, and walks beautifully on leash. Once she trusts you, she loves to play. Her favorite game? Chasing a tennis ball and proudly dropping it at your feet for another round. Aspen will thrive with an experienced adopter who can give her the time, structure, and calm environment she needs to continue building confidence. She’s a potential flight risk, so a secure home setup is essential. Bonus points if you have a friendly, social dog. Aspen lights up around canine companions and would love a confident buddy to show her the ropes.
