My story

**Note: Wink is currently in Korea, but she will fly to her forever home once adopted. Background Wink was rescued from a city pound in Yongin, Korea, last November. Since then, she has been living safely at our partner shelter, sharing her days with other dogs while waiting for her forever family. Personality & Socialization Wink is everything you’d expect from a Retriever—happy, playful, affectionate, and full of love. She has a medium energy level, making her a great fit for most families. She greets everyone with a wagging tail, whether strangers, men, or women, and she absolutely loves being petted and snuggling close. With other dogs, Wink is gentle and friendly, always getting along well. She is an easygoing, loving girl who enjoys both playtime and quiet time by your side. Behaviors Wink is a well-mannered, adaptable companion. She loves her food and is motivated by treats, which makes training fun and rewarding. She enjoys outdoor time but doesn’t require intense exercise—a couple of daily walks and some moderate activities are enough to keep her happy. She travels well in the car, behaves nicely at bath time, and has always been praised by the vet for her sweet nature during checkups. Wink prefers to do her potty outside but is also comfortable using indoor pee pads when needed. On walks, she is calm and good on the leash. Her favorite thing of all? Simply being close to her people. Health & Care Wink is spayed, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and on monthly parasite prevention. After she was rescued, she went through the heartworms and anaplasmosis treatments. When she was rescued, her right hip joint appeared to be damaged, likely from a car accident. She underwent Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery on that hip in January, 2025. While she has recovered and enjoys walking and running, she sometimes shows mild arthritis in that leg. Every few months, she may lift her right leg a bit when it feels sore; during those times, she takes arthritis medication for a week and then returns to her normal, happy self. Her left hip is healthy and shows no issues. Her arthritis is manageable, and with proper care she can continue to live a joyful, active life. Supportive measures include: Maintaining a healthy weight Moderate, low-impact exercise (avoiding hard running or jumping) Joint supplements (glucosamine, chondroitin, omega-3, turmeric, etc.) Physical therapy such as laser therapy, acupuncture, or underwater treadmill sessions Ideal Home Wink is an adorable, gentle girl who loves both people and other dogs. While sometimes she has arthritis, with the right care and lifestyle she will thrive. What she needs most is a family who will provide her with love, patience, and support as she continues to blossom. In return, Wink will give her humans unconditional love, loyalty, and the joy of sharing life with a true best friend. __________________________________ For more info about the dog, or the adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/wink-2/
