Mazapan came to us with her two siblings—not because she wasn’t loved, but because her mom faced deportation and wanted to make sure they were safe. 💔 Now, Mazapan is ready for her second chance at love and stability. She is a loving, gentle girl who adores sitting on laps all day and snuggling up in bed at night. She also does well in a kennel if needed. Mazapan is very affectionate and thrives when given attention and love.Mazapan is pee pad trained and reliably uses them—she just hasn’t learned to go outside consistently yet. She did manage to pee on the grass recently for the first time, so progress is happening! She also has a preference for wet/canned food and has a funny habit of licking the wet food off her kibble and leaving the dry behind. She’s good with dogs of all sizes and kids, including young children. She can be a little shy at first—typical for a Chihuahua—but once she feels safe, her gentle, sweet personality shines through. Mazapan took a few days to settle in and feel safe, but once she does, she’s fairly easygoing and affectionate. With patience, love, and attention, she’ll be a loyal, devoted companion who loves nothing more than being close to her person. 💕To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mazapan, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
