What my friends at ACC say about me:My favorite pastime is being visually admired! Pet me with your eyes!I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I am looking for a home with a patient person.A volunteer writes: Each time I glanced over at Silver, he had moved himself closer to the front to listen as I read to one of his neighbors. He was like one of those cartoons who surreptitiously comes closer and closer until all of a sudden he's right next to you. I love Silver's curiosity and his sweet efforts to hear more, but I also know he's someone who likes to go at his own pace and probably wouldn't be like a cartoon, at least not then. A note on Silver's door asks us to please go slowly with him and it kind of breaks my heart thinking about how he very much needs that but doesn't know how to ask for it. Silver's a gentle boy who grumbles as he makes sense of the shelter. He graciously accepted pets and was a little happier when he saw the treats in my hand, but mostly he just wants a chance.
