My story

ALL ABOUT ME •    Name: Cappu•    Around 2 years old•    Gender: Male•    Spayed/Neutered: Yes•    Breed: Shiba Corgi mix•    Colour: Beige, white•    Weight: 18kg / 40lbs•    Microchipped: Yes   MY RESCUE STORYHi! My name is Cappu. I was once placed on the euthanasia list at a city pound, but luckily, rescuers stepped in just in time and saved me along with my sibling, Churro. Now we both have a second chance at life, and I’m so excited to find my forever family who will love me for the sweet, adorable pup I am!   MY HEALTH •    Fully vaccinated (5-round series complete) •    In good health, with no known medical issues   MY PERSONALITY When you see me, I promise it’ll be love at first sight! I’m a total goofball with a big, happy personality, and I’m almost always smiling. My little squinty eyes and cheerful grin are my signature look, and they make me extra adorable. I absolutely love people and get along wonderfully with other dogs, too—life is just more fun when I have friends around me!    MY SOCIAL SKILLS With People:  I’m super friendly and absolutely adore people! I love soaking up affection and pets, even from new friends I just meet. While I haven’t had much experience with kids yet, I’m confident that with my sweet and gentle nature, I’ll do wonderfully with dog-savvy children who know how to be kind and respectful. You can easily scoop me up for cuddles, and once I feel safe, I love rolling over to show my belly as my special sign of trust.   With Dogs: I get along well with other dogs and love greeting new friends for playtime! I usually click best with dogs that are bigger than me, but overall I enjoy their company. That said, I can get a little jealous if another dog is soaking up all the attention, so I’d really thrive as the only dog in the home where I can be the center of love. While I’m friendly, I’m also confident—I won’t hesitate to stand my ground if another dog is being pushy or rude. Because of this, it’s best that I meet new dogs under supervision to make sure everyone feels comfortable.   With Cats:  I haven’t met any cats yet, so my reaction is unknown.     ENERGY & ACTIVITIES I have a moderate energy level—I enjoy spending time outdoors exploring, but I also love to snuggle up and relax indoors.   TRAINING & HABITSI walk nicely on leash and usually follow my handler well, though I can pull a little when something catches my interest. I love to take my time on walks to sniff and explore—there’s so much to discover out there! I’m polite around people and don’t guard my food, though I can be protective when other dogs are nearby and might growl a little. I’ll sometimes bark to get your attention or alert you to strangers, but I’m mostly calm. I’m still learning to rest quietly in my kennel and may whine at first. I prefer to go potty outdoors, and I may mark a little when I’m in a new environment.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m looking for a patient, loving family who can help guide and let me become my best self. I’ll thrive in a home with:•    A family who can provide me with a calm, structured, and safe environment.•    A family who understands that I can be protective of my food around other dogs, and is willing to use positive reinforcement to gently guide me toward feeling more relaxed and patient during mealtimes.•    Ideally, I’d be the only dog in the household to help me feel my best and most comfortable.•    A family who likes to do outdoors activities and spend time together.    SPECIAL NOTESStaff and volunteers say I’m a total goofball! I can be a little clumsy at reading the room and sometimes come across as a bit pushy with other dogs, but I really do enjoy playing and making new dog friends. I absolutely love greeting people and soaking up attention, and I know that once I find my forever family, I’ll be able to show my goofy, lovable, and completely adorable self every single day. With a little guidance and patience, I’m ready to become the perfect, fun-loving companion!   For More YouTube Clips, Click Here!Cappu’s YouTube Playlist ##2518228##
