My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bug, as we've coined him, was found tied to the mailbox at our shelter recently. There was no note or any identification with him and he was left with a bowl of water and a dish of French fries. He was in pretty gnarly condition - covered in fleas and missing some hair here and there. He tried to be a tough guy but he couldn't really pull it off. We treated his fleas right away, bathed him, and he's feeling good now. We expect his hair to grow back pretty quickly. He's getting vet checked and neutered on Sept. 18th and his fee is $150. We think Bug is a shih tzu mix of some kind and he seems fairly young (around 2 years old). He will require regular grooming once his coat grows back. He might need a little bit of basic training. We do think he'd do okay with other smaller dogs. We have no way of knowing about cats. Because he can be a little shy at first and acts a bit tough, he's looking for an ADULT only home. Teens are fine. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.  We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.
