My story

Hi, my name is Elsa. Not too long ago, life was very scary for me. I was abandoned with my seven puppies, and even though my body was breaking down, I did everything I could to keep them alive. I was so thin you could see every bone in my body, I only weighed 35 pounds. I didn’t know if I’d survive, but I couldn’t give up. My babies needed me.When the kind people at the Adams County SPCA were called, they weren’t sure if I was going to make it. I was weak, hungry, and exhausted, but they believed in me. They gave me small meals, lots of love, and all the care I needed. Slowly, I started to heal. Today, I’m up to a healthy 46 pounds, and for the first time in a long time, I feel strong again. The best part? My puppies have all found wonderful homes. Now it’s finally my turn. I’m a loving girl who adores attention and cuddles. I still trust people, somehow, my heart never gave up on humans. I can be a little choosy about my dog friends (I tend to like smaller ones best), but I have plenty of love to give.I fought so hard to survive because I believed something better was waiting for me. Now, I’m ready to find a forever family who will never let me go hungry, never abandon me, and who will give me the love I’ve always deserved.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Elsa, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
