You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Burma, a sweet young boy who has captured hearts with his loving, affectionate nature. This handsome Pyr was pulled from a high kill shelter in South Carolina and has blossomed into the most wonderful companion. Burma would love nothing more than a family to shower with love while enjoying belly rubs and snuggle sessions. Burma is housebroken, leash trained, crate trained, and has wonderful house manners that show he's ready to be the PYR-fect family member. Burma has a beautiful long, thick coat, and he enjoys bath time! He's a true gentleman who gets along beautifully with dogs, large and small, cats, chickens, and absolutely adores children of all ages. Burma has a gentle, loving personality and is wonderfully social – he greets new people with friendliness and affection. This sweet boy loves his "babies" (toys) and enjoys cozy naps in a comfortable bed. His favorite treats include chicken, bone broth, blueberries, and cheese! What makes Burma extra special is his desire to be close to his people – he lives for attention, always ready to soak up love while lounging in a sunny spot. He's less vocal than the average Pyr and doesn’t dig. Burma enjoys both indoor relaxation and outdoor adventures. Burma's PYR-fect home would include a 4-foot fenced yard, and be with an active family who enjoys spending time loving on him, and giving him all the attention his heart desires. This wonderful boy is ready to be someone's devoted companion and snuggle buddy for life. - Written by H.B. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. September 10, 2025, 4:13 pm
